The 2016 Red Blend is made up of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot is from the Jack estate, and the rest is sourced from Atlas Peak. Very deep purple-black in color, it has a wonderfully spicy, plummy nose with the cassis and blackberry pie in the undercurrent with violets, tilled soil and truffles plus wafts of Black Forest cake and iron ore. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with amazingly ripe, firm, fine-grained tannins, loads of red fruit and mineral sparks and an epically long, earth-laced finish. 200 cases produced.
