This year is the first time the fruit for this wine is all from the Atlas Peak AVA. Very deep purple-black in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon has gorgeous crème de cassis, chocolate-covered black cherries, licorice, chargrill, pencil shavings and tobacco with wafts of star anise, fertile loam and crushed rocks. Full-bodied and boldly fruited in the mouth with very firm, grainy, super ripe tannins, it has wonderful freshness and depth, finishing very long and minerally. 250 cases produced.
